Alvine E. Biondi

March 20, 1928 — October 9, 2023

Danbury, CT

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Mom Alvine E. Biondi.95, on October 9th, 2023, at Regional Hospice of Danbury after an indefatigable battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Alvine was born on March 20,1928 to Alvine (nee Berger) and Albert Wendell in Manhattan, N.Y. both of whom emigrated to the United States from Germany.
She attended Walton High School and subsequently was recruited by AT& T where she would remain until her retirement. Not one to let grass grow under her feet, she babysat for a host of children while their parents worked.
She made her home in the Bronx, Yonkers and Somers N.Y. with her husband of 63 years Frank.
Music was a prevalent joy throughout her life. She played the violin and particularly enjoyed not only listening to, but also attending opera performances. She and her husband Frank could cut a rug like few others. Alvine could often be heard singing around the house and, also in the Church Choir.
Alvine and Frank travelled extensively through the Travel Club in Heritage Hills to Hawaii, California, the Grand Canyon, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Martinique.
Alvine welcomed her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren joyously. She reveled in spending time with them during sporting events, theatrical performances, academic achievements and holiday gatherings.
Alvine departed from her earthly home leaving her daughter Diane (Richard) and her son Guy (Ann) and extended family that included granddaughter Amanda Biondi of Brooklyn, NY. And her six grandsons Richard J. Welsh (Melanie) of New Fairfield, Ct along with their children Connor, Kailyn, and Quinn, P.B. Welsh of LA ,California, Chip(Laura) and their daughters Charlie and Ella, Chad Welsh of New Fairfield Ct ,James Biondi of Manhattan NY , and Stephen Biondi of Brooklyn, NY.
