Ada Ruperto, a longtime resident of White Plains, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022, with her devoted sons Frank and Pasquale at her side. She was 90 years old. Ada was born on April 21, 1932, in Campana, Cosenza, Italy, to parents Pasquale and Teresa Cosenza. She was predeceased by her brother Domenico and her husband, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ernesto (Luigi) Ruperto.
On April 16, 1950 Ada married her lifelong love, Luigi, with whom she traveled to the United States in 1961, settling down in the White Plains home they would fill with family, faith, and countless delicious meals.
Ada was a skilled seamstress and member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers’ Union, but this was just one of her many gifts.
Ada used her gift for cooking as an act of love, making cherished meals that gathered her family regularly. She will be so fondly remembered as an exceptional cook and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Ada is survived by her loving sons Frank (Kate) and Pasquale (Donna); four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dave), Louis (Kristen), Christina (John), and Anthony (Brian) and six great-granddaughters Madison, Emily, Lily, Mia, Rylee, and Scarlett.
Reposing at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 6th, from 10 AM-11:30 AM. Funeral Mass (immediate family only), Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y., following at 12:00 PM. Entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be greatly appreciated.
