Arthur Ballard made a promise...
When he purchased our company in 1938, Arthur Ballard made a pledge to himself, his family, and the White Plains community. As the company had already been in existence for over 45 years, he committed himself to upholding the heritage of compassionate, caring service that families in the area had trusted for decades.
He relocated the funeral home to a handsome structure at the corner of Maple and South Broadway. Once the residence of eminent citizens such as the Honorable Humphrey J. Lynch, the home has since become a historic landmark in the community.
A bit later, George B. Durand became a partner in the firm, and continued his service after Mr. Ballard’s passing in 1951. Mr. Durand passed away in 1980 at the age of 73.
Today, the century-old heritage of these two men is maintained by Matthew J. Fiorillo. With his staff of dedicated funeral professionals, Mr. Fiorillo maintains the lasting integrity and commitment of this historic funeral chapel.
